Linda Mcbreen Miniature Paintings

About my work

Welcome to my website, which shows galleries of my past work.  Although I am currently unable to undertake work on commission, Swan House Miniatures carries a selection of my paintings for sale.

For as far back as I can remember, I have drawn and painted. For several years, whilst raising a family, I produced newspaper artwork, including a pictorial crossword for children: painting for its own sake had to wait until the full-time demands of career and family were over. I paint full-size in watercolour, acrylic or oil, using whichever medium seems most suited to the image.

I have exhibited with three local art societies and a gallery, and have had two solo exhibitions. Winner of the Public Choice award and judges award at four separate shows.  Also I run a painting/drawing group for the local branch of the University of the Third Age.

In 2006 a dolls house came into my life, I started painting 1/12th pictures for myself, was encouraged to sell on eBay, then attend shows… now my paintings are in dollhouses and collections all over the world, and I am warmed and encouraged by the feedback from buyers. Click on the gallery links above to see examples of my work. I hope you, too, enjoy these paintings.

I paint miniatures mainly in 1:12 scale, using the finest quality acrylics on art board, and protect with two coats of satin or gloss varnish.  Pictures have a backing which is signed, titled and dated;  prices include frames or wall panel.
